 Key questions being addressed:

What is the dynamics of the society?
How can we anticipate discontinuous shifts in the dynamics?
What kinds of politics and communications is feasible in the current situation?

Our collaboration partners are the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Interior of Finland. Also this project is conducted in the collaboration with International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Vienna.

The Social Mood project will produce a pragmatic indicator for continuous scanning of the difficult to-measure space for identifying environments that may facilitate the emergence of unknown events. The project will also produce a concrete system for using the SMI as a tool for anticipation of and shifts in the social dynamics of the Finnish populations.

The project will be completed by end of year 2012.
